At sunrise, come down to the Lodge and enjoy your morning coffee in the quiet solitude of the riverside before you have a hearty breakfast of fresh fruit, fresh pastries, eggs to order, waffles, or the daily special. Our angling guests are met by their guide at breakfast and most days you are on your way fishing by 8:30 a.m. Breakfast is served until 9 a.m., which gives you plenty of time for a later departure if that's your choice. If you are "up and at 'em" it is no problem to depart before 8:30, but we do like to plan ahead, so please let us know the night before.
Complete box lunches are packed for you in an ice cooler with plenty of water and soft drinks. The lunches are prepared for you and your guide to take on that days' adventure wherever you may go; by boat, boot, or hoof. If you are having a day off from fishing, you can enjoy lunch at your leisure at your cabin, or take them with you on your trip to town or sporting clays shoot. Don't be afraid to grab an extra cookie from the Lodge's "bottomless cookie jar" on your way out.
After you've returned from fishing and had time to relax, you'll be welcomed to our Cutthroat Lounge in the Lodge which features a well stocked array of beer, wine, soft drinks and mixers (as we don't have a liquor license you are most welcome to bring your own spirits). Tempting appetizers are served at "happy hour" and your guide is encouraged to stay and spin fish tales of that one that got away. YVR guests are provided cold tap beer and tasty house wines as a part of their package price. The Cutthroat Lounge also offers a nice selection of bottled beers and fine wines for sale if the occasion calls for something special.
Once you're ready for dinner you'll have the choice of dining "al fresco" (weather permitting) or in our dining area complete with a view of the river, mountains and our collection of original Russell Chatham's lithographs. YVR offers a three course meal every night with a choice of two entrees (most often a meat and a fish). Our head Chef, Josh Pastrama, starts with the freshest ingredients, with most produce coming from a local organic farm. He then employs his considerable culinary talent and creativity to serve memorable meals. Our repeat guests often comment that they have to come all the way to the Montana for the finest food they know, but considering the quality of the setting, and the quality of the fishing, they are happy to do so.
Dining at YVR is a festive and casual event. If you like to dress for dinner please do, but you are also welcome to come in right off the river. The Lounge opens at 5:30 and dinner can be served as early as 6. Generally our guests dine between 7 and 8, however we make that decision according to your needs and the atmosphere that night. If you are out fishing past dark or can't get to YVR until late because of your flight, it is no problem, dinner will be saved and ready for you in your cabin.
Once a week YVR has an outdoor BBQ that includes our guides, the YVR staff, and other friends and families in our community. It is a fun feast with a special flair that many of our guests remember as their favorite meal of the week..
We are adept at catering to special dietary concerns, whatever they may be, just let us know as we'll be happy to accommodate your needs.

Fly Shop
The Ranch also has a modest fly shop complete with all those miscellaneous items that always seem to get misplaced between fishing trips. We also have waders and rods available to rent. While our fishing guides will supply you with all the necessary terminal tackle (leaders, tippet, flies) we also have variety on hand for special occasions. The shop is also a good place to purchase gifts, toiletries, or various sundries.
