This tailwater (dam regulated) system is a great fishery that we use on occasion early in the season when the majority of the freestone streams are blown out due to snow induced run-off. Split into two major sections the Upper Madison and the Lower Madison this river is a smaller pocket water stream on the Upper and a wide shallow stream on the Lower. Nymphing with large streamers and nymphs can often produce the fish of a lifetime on what has been nicknamed the 50 Mile Riffle. |
