2008 Spring Sampler....
The benefits of springtime travel in Montana have not caught on nationwide, but for the passionate community of fly fishers who love the West, it is one of the best times to visit.  For "locals", this early fishing season is a treasured uncrowded time unlike any other.  We highly recommend that you come to YVR for this amazing experience! In fact many of our repeat summer guests have started coming twice a year to enjoy this great seasonal fishing opportunity.

Since it is our early season we offer this package at a 20% discount from our standard Montana Samplerrates.   This event is available from April 19th to May 9th. We still have some availability for this great opportunity. If you have questions or would like to make a reservation please contact Paul Robertson at 1.800.626.3526 or via email.

2008 Fishing Outlook...
In our November email newsletter we mentioned that our snow pack was well above normal; well that snowfall pattern has continued. The Yellowstone River and surrounding waters are all at or above 100% of normal for this time of year. Why are we concerned with snow? The amount of snow we get translates to the amount of water we will have in the rivers this summer. In turn more water keeps the rivers cool and the trout happy. Since few of the rivers we fish are tailwaters (dam regulated) this is a positive indicator for a quality fishing season.

To keep up to date with this information you can view the following link and look at the Upper Yellowstone drainage or you can contact our resident expert at Montana Fly Fishing Guides, Eric Adams for his take on the up coming season.

YVR in 2008...
In the past three seasons YVR has made numerous improvements and upgrades to our services and facilities.  Perhaps, the most appreciated new amenity is our air conditioned cabins; the new fly shop will have expanded offerings and services in 2008; and our guests are served by a veteran crew as the core YVR staff from the past two seasons is returning again in 2008;  including the return of our highly regarded chef, Josh Pastrama, who will bring you a dining experience which will rank as one of the highlights of your vacation.

Our official fishing outfitter, Montana Fly Fishing Guides, is also excited about the 2008 season. They have even added a few familiar faces to our core guide staff. You've seen them around for years, but thanks to our busy 2008 season we've added them to our core staff. To learn more about the Montana Fly Fishing Guide staff please view our Guides and Staff page on our YVR website.
